Course overview
Designed primarily for practising teachers in both school and early childhood settings, this course aims to establish a community of learning where practitioners examine and reflect on the demands on practice brought about by the ideas often called 'twenty-first century learning' or 'future focused learning'. You will be able to unpack these ideas in relation to your own practice. You will explore research with local academics who have international links to key thinkers in the field.
The course includes six face-to-face sessions comprising of provocations and workshops, which will be run on Saturdays and supported with on-line interactions and discussions. Each provocation will introduce the key implications for teacher practice from current twenty-first century ideas and critique these ideas. The workshops that follow will involve you in a collaborative exploration of the provocation via discussion with faculty experts and the wider cohort.
This course is a compulsory part of the Master of Education Practice programme. It may also be taken as an elective for a range of other postgraduate programmes where it is approved. Course Coordinators
