Learning outcomes
At the completion of the course, it is intended that students will able to:- Develop a clear understanding of the values and principles underpinning ethical guidelines, and the role of codes of ethics in decision making in professional counselling practice.
- Select from and apply models of ethical decision making when engaged in ethical decision making processes, and critique the application of guidelines to specific situations in counselling practice.
- Develop and demonstrate an understanding of the theory, structure and dynamics of professional supervision, in order to engage effectively in the process as counsellors.
- Be aware of processes, resources and agencies relevant to counselling practice in the community.
