Description Science,  technology,  engineering  and  mathematics  (STEM)  learning  is  the  acquisition  of  knowledge  and  skills  through  experience  and  study.  It  is  in  an  interdisciplinary  or  integrated  approach  where  students  gain  and  apply  knowledge,  deepen  their  understanding  and  develop  creative  and  critical  thinking  skills  within  an  authentic  context. 
The  two  sessions  explore  what  STEM  education  is,  and  how  a  STEM  integrated  curriculum  can  be  designed  in  the  context  of  the  NZC
Session  1
Perticipants  will
●            Explore  the  meaning  of  STEM  education 
● Look  at  examples  of  STEM  lessons.
● Design  a  STEM  lesson  for  an  identified  curriculum  area.
● Design  an    inquiry  for  their  identified  STEM  lesson  or  series  of  lessons  in  their  school/classroom.

Session  2
Perticipants  will
● Reflect  on  their  inquiry  in  action.
● Explore  examples  of  NZQA  achievement  standards  that  have  been  planned  in  a  STEM  context.
Design  a  STEM  curriculum  approach  for  a  unit  of  work.
